ORC supporting JSRC at the Train Run Holiday Special

In case you missed the email for Sunday’s Train-ing Run.  YES a special guest to sing the Anthem, WHO WILL IT BE ?  Southside Johnny ? BRUCE ? SANTA ?

This Sunday.  Rain or Shine.  If the trains run we run.

Check in will start at 915 am and end at 1015 am at Johnny Mac House of Spirits located at 208 Main Street, Asbury Park, NJ across from the train station. We will all walk over to the south bound train platform at 10:20 am. Due to construction we will walk around via Bangs Ave and must get there before the train arrives.

Parking along Main Street is free. The parking garage a few blocks away on Bangs Ave is free on Sunday during the holidays.  Other locations must pay, suggest use the Asbury Park Parking App if you park on the street anywhere else.

You will receive your train ticket and red Santa Hat when you check in. We will all walk over to the train station at 10:20 am. The train leaves the station at 10:48 am. The main lobby of the station is closed for renovations so we will have to walk around to the other side on Memorial Drive. Use the bathrooms at Johnny Macs if you need to.

We will have the playing of the National Anthem by a local celebrity who we are not allowed to identify

When on the train platform stay back from the tracks – we don’t want anyone falling onto the tracks.

You can get off the train at Bradley Beach about 2 miles back (you can walk directly back on Main Street which is about 1 mile); Belmar about 4 miles or Spring Lake about 6 miles.

We will have a train escort with bright yellow shirts at each stop to direct you toward the boardwalk. Be careful of traffic and crossing Main Street and Ocean Ave. Run on the left hand side of the road  against traffic. When you reach the boardwalk head north (left) and go through the old Casino building. A course marshal will direct you back to Johnny Macs. Head back on Cookman Ave to Main Street to Johnny Macs. Run on the left hand side of the road or the sidewalk.
