ROCK-N-ROLL HALF MARATHON D.C.
Congratulations to all Ocean Running Club members who participated in the Rock-n-Roll half marathon in the nation’s capital this weekend! It sounds like it was quite the adventure, with pristine weather and challenging but rewarding terrain.
Starting with temperatures in the mid-40s and rising to 52 degrees at the race start must have been perfect for running. The course seems to have offered a mix of flat stretches and challenging climbs, reminiscent of parts of the Marine Corps Marathon. The 1.6-mile climb after Foggy Bottom and Georgetown sounds particularly tough, but it’s great to hear that the event was well-supported with enthusiastic crowds cheering on the runners.
Special congratulations are in order for Sandy R., who placed 2nd overall in her age group! What an outstanding achievement. And of course, kudos to all the other ORC members who took part, including Christi A. and her daughter Jenna, as well as Caroline C., Rudy, and Sandy R.
It sounds like it was a memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Well done to all the participants!
