The authors, Kara Goucher, an elite 10,000 meter and marathon specialist and Mary Pilon describe Kara’s running and racing career. They provide deep insights into the challenges faced by female runners competing in a sport controlled by men in powerful positions.  Kara discloses intimate details that are especially embarrassing because she is a self described women’s advocate.
