Meet Up for a Group Run
Group meet running are group runs organized by members, which offer the opportunity to explore new routes and discover scenic locations while enjoying the company of fellow runners. They are throughout Ocean County.
Running with a group provides a sense of accountability and motivation. When you commit to meeting up with a group, you’re more likely to stick to your running routine and stay consistent with your training.

FREEHOLD RUNNING CLUB’S BORN TO RUN
Today, I had the pleasure of running the Born to Run race, put on by the Freehold Area Runners Club. The race ended up being short of the 5 miles, but more on that later. Although some people may disagree, I felt the weather was great—no heat or humidity. It was a little cool/cold, but great running weather overall. This was my first time running this race since I’ve only been in the area for about a year and a half. I would definitely do it again. The race started out in downtown Freehold and ran through some streets. This [...]
THANKSGIVING DAY RUN
. Most of us became friends through running and that's an awesome blessing. And then we add the social events that have made us friends on a whole new level. This year's Thanksgiving run once again organized by Jennifer Berghout was a huge success. The Libations were flowing the probably not terribly healthy breakfast foods were delicious and the company was amazing, okay so the weather wasn't great however a good time was had by all. I love these events a casual run some socializing that doesn't always happen when you just go for a workout and of course as always [...]
EveryWoman’s Marathon
Welcome to Savannah Ladies! The first annual Everywoman’s Marathon on Nov. 16 gave 7,000 runners, primarily women, but some men, a fun-filled weekend of running community. I saw this race on social media and decided to reignite my training. If you have never ran a marathon, I would say training from July-November is a great way to go. The weather is usually wonderful and you don’t have to bundle like you do when preparing for a spring marathon. I was excited to find out that Des Linden (2018 Boston Female Winner) and Kathrine Switzer (First official Woman to run Boston, [...]

Running Alone vs. Group Runs: Finding Your Perfect Fit
When it comes to running, everyone has their own approach. Some prefer the solitude of a solo run, while others thrive in the company of a group. Whether you like to get your miles in early and be done with it, or wait for the sun to rise, there’s no one-size-fits-all. Your preferences can also change with the seasons—what works in the summer might be different in the winter. Personally, I run four days a week—Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday—at 6:30 a.m. The quiet early morning hours are my favorite time to hit the pavement, and it’s a routine I’ve [...]
